Meet Ceci Bolan
It is so difficult trying to be the “perfect” career woman AND “perfect” mom!
During the 1970s and 1980s, many women (including me!) bought into the idea that we could “have it all”: the successful career AND the joys of home life and motherhood. But when we actually tried to put that idea into practice, many of us started to realize that it was not nearly as easy -- nor as fulfilling -- as what we had been taught to expect.
In my work with numerous professional women who are also moms, I have learned that “having it all” does not mean the same as “having it all AT ONCE”. My mission in my counseling practice with working moms is twofold:
1. To help working moms learn to be okay with re-defining what “having it all” means to them -- even if it does not match what others have been telling them it “should” mean
2. To help working moms figure out how to truly appreciate and ENJOY their specific and separate roles of “career woman” and “mom” -- without short-changing either role.
